How to Spend Labor Day Weekend in Jackson Hole

It’s almost Labor Day! If you have the good fortune of being in the beautiful Jackson Hole and looking for things to do, we’ve got you covered! Here is your guide to some of the amazing places to eat and activities to do, so you and your family can enjoy every moment of your weekend!

Friday

Start your morning off at Persephone Bakery in-town or on the Westbank, a lovely french-styled bakery and coffee shop! Or, if you prefer a more backcountry vibe to grab a fresh bagel, try out Pearl Street Bagels!

Next head out for a river excursion! Try your hand at fly fishing or get your adrenaline pumping on a whitewater rafting trip.

Afterwards, gather around the town square and experience some classic frontier justice; a shootout! This reenactment is the longest-running the United States, and it’s free to the public.

Lastly, finish off your Friday with a night on the town. Stop by Pinky G’s Pizzeria if you are looking for casual and experience the best pizza in Jackson Hole; it was even featured on the TV show Diner, Drive-Ins & Dive’s! Or, if it is italian you are in the mood for, try Orsetto and only a few feet from the shootout.

Saturday

Spend today exploring the town! Start your day by browsing the Farmer’s Market, perusing through the local produce and products while listening to the amazing live music!

After you’ve had your fill at the farmer’s market, head over to Snow King Mountain and explore this in-town playground suitable for kids and adults! Whether you’d prefer to relax on their scenic chair-lift, try your hand at a round of mini-golf, or get your blood pumping on the Cowboy Coaster, there’s guaranteed fun for the whole family!

Your visit to “the “Last Town of the Old West” wouldn’t be complete without experiencing the legendary rodeo! Spend tonight taking in this beloved event that has been apart of Jackson Hole’s culture for over 100 years.

Sunday

Have a slow and leisurely start to your Sunday by grabbing pancakes from Nora’s, a famous breakfast locale.

Once your system is awake and buzzing, head to one of the national parks and spend your Sunday taking in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Let an experienced biologist take you on a tour to some breathtaking spots where you can hopefully witness some of the majestic wildlife that are famous to the area such as bison, moose, and even mountain lions!

Afterwards, if it is a family excursion you are after, get into the spirit of the old west by attending one of the famous Chuckwagon dinners! Whether you opt for a covered wagon ride into the Bridger-Teton National forest or gather at camp to witness world-famous yodelers, this authentic cowboy entertainment is sure to be a highlight of your weekend here in Jackson Hole!

If a quiet dinner is more your style, fine dining group has more than enough options for you to choose from.

Monday

If this weekend’s festivities have left you exhausted, then you may need to experience the healing powers of the Teton Mountain Lodge Spa. Whether you opt for one of their many massage options or indulge in the Hydraquench Body Wrap you’re sure to leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated and revitalized.

If you’re looking for some family fun today, head over to the Jackson Lake Lodge and check out Teton Raptor Center’s Birds in the Park. Chat with the education team members, meet the live avian ambassadors and even interact with real raptors!

Making a day of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is always a good idea as well. Everyone should take a ride up the world-famous “Big Red.”
