Magic of Fall in Jackson Hole

While there is no bad time to visit Jackson Hole – It’s one of the US’s best four season destinations. But there is something truly magical about fall in Jackson Hole. The autumn months of September, October, and early November are often considered ideal for travel to Jackson Hole, with still-pleasant weather and fewer tourists. Plus, there are many events, the foliage is stunning, and wildlife is out. With that in mind, we’re giving reasons why you should start packing your bags.

Jackson Hole turns a spectacular gold, bronze and red. You can expect cool nights, crisp mornings, and comfortable daytime temperatures that range from the high 50s to the low 70s. Perfect weather for still enjoying all the fun activities including hiking, biking, fishing, and horseback riding.

Grand Teton National Park is a wonderful place for viewing the fall foliage and wildlife. Animals are migrating to their wintering grounds this time of year making fall a popular time for seeing elk, moose and bear preparing for hibernation. Don’t forget your camera! This is also the time for the annual Elk Rut, the mating season for elk, where thousands of males battle to prove their strength and virility. The elk bugling can be heard all over. It is quite the experience.
