Jackson Hole is a top destination for the great outdoors in summer and winter. Its vast, breathtaking scenery is full of gorgeous places to explore. But did you know that Jackson in the spring can be just as lovely? It’s true – shoulder season runs April-May, and you’ll find fewer crowds and just as much scenery and outdoor recreation as in summer and winter.

As the snow melts, the grass greens and wildflowers begin to bloom, there is a revived sense of energy and serenity. The entire area seems to burst to life. Here are a few ways to experience beautiful Jackson Hole during the spring months:

Wildlife Viewing

Take a private Wyoming safari on an adventure through the National Elk Refuge, an amazing place for wildlife sightings such as moose, big horn sheep, elk, mule deer and more. For a culture-filled afternoon, head to the National Museum of Wildlife Art, which overlooks the Elk Refuge and is home to the nations’ premier public collection of art devoted to wildlife. Observe thousands of works (from the early-19^th century to the present) from hundreds of artists celebrating wildlife.

Visit the museum and have lunch at Palate, known for wonderful food and some of the best views in Jackson Hole.

Hot Air Balloon Rides

Experience one of the most amazing balloon rides in North America with the Tetons in view. I bet you didn’t think Jackson Hole had hot air balloon rides, but we do, and this is one unique experience you will want to do.

Dining and Shopping

The dining options in Jackson Hole are endless, with something for every taste and mood. For a splurge meal with mesmerizing views, head to Amangani for an elegant yet warm romantic dinner. Genevieve, a neighborhood log cabin gem, is fantastic for brunch, lunch or dinner. We love sitting on their deck! Are you beginning to feel a little cooped up? Book a spring getaway to Jackson Hole. We have received more snow than any other Rocky Mountain Resort with 470 inches so far this winter. Our February snow broke records again! Now that its March, you can expect warmer temps, spring vibes and hopefully more snow!

Typically, you would expect March to be a time for live music and more fun events. Due to COVID 19, these events are not happening this year, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t still a ton to do.
